Reb raiders ravaged his family and farm, and he had to grow up with a gun in hand and revenge in his heart. Chet Cunningham is on top of the heap of western action-adventure writers with over 300 books, and Wade's War is one you won't put down.

Wade War edition by Chet Cunningham Literature Fiction eBooks

IF YOU ARE A WESTERN BOOK READER, THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU. WADE'S WAR IS ABOUT A YOUNG BOY GROWING UP TO SEEK REVENGE FOR THE DEATH OF HIS MOTHER AND FATHER. THERE WERE FOUR "RAIDERS" WHO KILLED THEM AS WADE LAY HIDDEN IN THE GRASS AND WITTNESSED THE KILLINGS. HE MEMORIZED THEIR LOOKS AND THEIR NAMES (NAMES REVEALED THROUGH THE CONVERSATION OF THE MEN, THAT WADE OVER HEARD WHILE THE MEN TALKED)(PHENOMENAL MEMORY). LOTS OF ACTION, SUSPENSE AND GUESSING WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN NEXT. WELL THOUGHT OUT STORY LINE AND CHARACTERS WELL DEVELOPED. I DIDN'T WANT TO PUT IT DOWN, OR TO END. THE END IS SURPRISING AND A VERY GOOD ONE. I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT AS MUCH AS I DID. HAPPY READING.

Wade War edition by Chet Cunningham Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Westerns are fantasy fiction, not generally high class writing. An interesting plot told in a stilted sort of manner. Suspend cynicism and any critical thoughts you have so you can enjoy the author's intent to tell a story - and you should enjoy it.
This is a very good story after the civil war. It is about four confederate raiders who murdered the young man's mother and father. As he became a young man he followed the four and had his revenge, some of it not how the usual story of this kind happens.
Enjoyed it and will look for other books by this author. I normally read mystery's, but have grown a little tired of them and found I am enjoying reading westerns. They have some of the same things happening in them, but they are written for all ages of readers. I found that I wanted to keep returning to this book every chance I had.
This book starts out very well, and builds nicely, until the last quarter. At that point, the storyline gets rushed and consequently, a little out of hand. It is as if the author couldn't decide which scenario to end with, so he threw them all in, with very little lead-in. I may try another of his books to determine if he gets better at conclusions, maybe,,,,
Really good western. Was interesting how the young hero made his way across the west as a professional farrier. A great twist. If you are really good at your job and work hard you can make it. All Cunningham's cowboys seem to fall in love at first sight, which is ok since guys are all part cowboys...at least those of us who read westerns...even if I ride a Ford...
While Chet Cunningham is not L'Amour this book was very good. The story was somewhat unbelievable but not nearly as bad in that respect as many I have read. It moved along at a good pace and I soon found myself eager to finish the chapter so I could get to the next one. Give it a try you will find it enjoyable.
CC has written a western novel about the end of the Civil War when Rebel soldiers raided homes throughout Missouri and Kansas. One young man's family is murdered as he watches. He set out to learn as much about gun-fighting as possible. 5 years pass and he finds the men who killed his family. This is an excellent read for the genre.....ER
